I’m back with my second Ipsy bag ‘unboxing’. It’s pretty hard to believe that it’s already been a whole month since I received my last bag. I am loving this subscription so far, I love having something to look forward to. It’s a little present each month. Onto the Glam Bag!
The bag this month was designed by Rebecca Minkoff, who is a handbag designer. The bag is definitely unique and bold, which I love. It’s fairly tiny, but would work well for a little school emergency kit (bobby pins, band aids, tampon etc.) It makes sense to have a smaller back because even though there were 5 items this month, they were smaller things. Overall, no complaints on the bag!
Now onto the good stuff. This bag was mainly makeup, which of course made me really happy. I have no problems with getting skincare, but I do tend to stick to a main routine so I get much more use out of makeup.
Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil
The first thing I got in my bag is an eyebrow pencil. It claims to be suited to all skin tones and water resistant. I haven’t used this yet, but when I swatched it I think it has a pretty good chance at matching my brow colour fairly well. I’m currently using the Anastasia Brow Whiz in Soft Brown, so if this works it would be a cheaper option for me.
When I was swatching it, it definitely felt very creamy and blendable, so I’m excited to try this.
Carol’s Daughter Sacred Tiare Anti-Breakage and Anti-Frizz Styling Cream
The second item in my June bag was a protective styling cream from Carol’s Daughter. I have heard great things about this brand so I’m excited to try this. I don’t deal with frizz, but I do try and make an effort to protect my hair since it’s pretty dry. From first glance it seems thick so I probably won’t need that much and it smells really good!
RealTree for Her Fragarance
The third item in my bag was a fragrance by RealTree, who apparently founded their business by designing a camo pattern. How random is that?! After delving in camouflage gear, they decided fragrance was a great next step. Once again, how random. This is the one thing I’m slightly disappointed in, I’m not a huge fragrance fan. I have my perfumes that I like and I stick to those when I wear perfume. It smells okay, but probably not something I’ll reach for. I did get a fragrance last month as well, so hopefully that’s it for a bit.
Nicka K New York Shimmer Eyeliner
The second last thing that was in my Ipsy bag was a blue glitter eyeliner. I’ll admit that this is out of my comfort zone, yet I’m so excited to try this. I usually stick to fairly neutral makeup and especially now because I’m back to working in an office environment. I’m a little nervous to experiment with my makeup for work. I will definitely not be wearing this to work, but I’m so wearing it any other chance I get. I picture this right above black winged liner with minimal eyeshadow and a soft lip.
I think this is the perfect blue shade. Not too crazy and not massively glittery, just the perfect amount of shimmer. I can already tell that this will have great staying power because after it set on my hand, it did not budge. I’m really impressed with this product. I can’t wait to use it!
NYX Butter Gloss
Okay so when I saw the sneak peek a couple weeks ago that these were in the June Ipsy bag, I actually gasped out loud. I already have 3 of these and I love them. They are my go-to gloss. My only hope was that out of the 3 shade options, I didn’t get the shade I already have which is Apple Strudel an orangey-coral colour. And I’m happy to say that I didn’t get a repeat shade!! I actually got the shade I really wanted and was going to buy anyway which is Eclair.
The shade is a soft, muted pink that would look absolutely perfect over a nude lipstick or a soft pink shade. My brain automatically went to MAC Creme Cup lipstick, I think it would look amazing over that.
Well there you have it! Overall I’m pretty impressed with Ipsy and this month’s bag! Let me know in the comments what you got in your Ipsy bag!
Bye for now!
