Today I have my June Favourites for you. I know it’s a little early (again), but my favourites aren’t going to change, so I figured why not? I’ve been wearing soft, neutral makeup for most of the month for work, so my favourites are pretty different than last month, where I was loving and wearing tons of bright lippies! Now for the good stuff!
MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup and NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair
My first favourite has been getting a ton of love this month. I have been obsessed with this lipstick for the perfect neutral work lip. It’s just enough to finish off my makeup, but it’s not distracting. This can accentuate dryness a little so I’ve been pairing it with NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair that I got in my June Ipsy bag. They are a perfect match. It gives a little shine, but it’s not remotely sticky. The colour is identical on, so it allows the soft colour of the lipstick to shine through. If there is one lipstick I will completely finish before the summer ends, this is it.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive
My next favourite is also a lip product. This one is a bit brighter than the last combination, but still great for work. On the lips it comes off as a really pretty rose toned pink. I love this for days with minimal eye makeup because it really pulls the look together. Plus the stick method of application makes for quick and easy application, which is handy for reapplying. The point really allows me to shape out my lips, rather than colouring outside the lines like I usually do with lipstick.
Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum Pop
My third favourite is a blush I have been using non-stop for almost the whole month. The packaging of this is so cute, with it’s flower design and clear casing. Despite being called Plum Pop this doesn’t really come off purple on my skin tone, but more pink with a slight purple undertone. This makes it super wearable. It creates a nice flush with a bit of an edge from plum undertone. Also the formula of these is so smooth and pigmented, it blends out beautifully.
My next favourite is very new to my collection, but already has skyrocketed to the top of my highlighter list. Since I’ve been doing lots of neutral makeup, I have been spending most of my makeup time focusing on my skin, making sure that it looks flawless (as possible) and dewy. It’s a gold-champagne tone, so it’s the perfect neutral highlighter to go with any look. I now know why this is so popular, it really creates a glow like nothing else I’ve seen.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick- Pink Quartz
The next product I had to include is an all-in one product. I talked about this as a favourite highlighter in my glowy skin essentials post, but I have discovered another great use for it. I have been loving this as an eyeshadow. It’s the perfect amount of shimmer and colour. When it catches the light, you get the different notes that are in the brick, beige, pink, rose gold. On lazy days I sweep this all over the lid, take the lightest colour under my brow bone, add mascara and that’s it. I’m beyond impressed with the smoothness of this product and the versatility. In the way the product is organized, you can actually select the tones you want, or blend them all together. Despite being expensive, I think this is worth the money because of all the options it gives.
L’Oreal Magic Lumi Primer
The primer that I cannot put down was also included in my glowy skin essentials and it’s the L’Oreal Magic Lumi Primer. I cannot see myself returning to any other primer after using this. I don’t have oily skin, so I don’t need a primer to keep my makeup in place. I look for a primer that does something. Whether it’s neutralizing redness or adding glow, I like it to do something I can see. This does that. It is the perfect beginning for glowing skin, making everything I put on top look even more amazing.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer- NW15
Lately I have not been getting nearly enough sleep, so now I’m dealing with under eye circles. This favourite has been helping to brighten up my face. Now I don’t use this directly on my circles because it can actually accentuate them, but I use this over my regular concealer and in a triangle under my eyes to give a little boost. I also use this on the bridge of my nose, forehead and cupid’s bow to highlight my face. My matching shade is NW20, so going one shade lighter to NW15 is just enough to brighten, but I’m not blending out stark white.
Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush and Accent Brush
I recently picked up the Starter Set from Real Techniques, as I don’t own any brushes from this brand and I wanted to give it a try. Out of the kit, these are the ones I love so far. The base shadow brush is fluffier than my regular shader brush, so it’s great to really sweep colour onto the lid. The accent brush is now an essential brush for me because it’s stiff and gets right under my lashes to really define my lower lashline. The other brush I usually use is better for smudging, but I like this much better for defining. Plus I love the purple handles, so unique!
So there you have it, my favourites for the month of June! Hard to believe the month is almost over, but I am loving the warmer weather that this time of year brings! Let me know below what you’ve been loving this month and share this post if you enjoyed it!
Bye for now!
