Best Of: Pink

April 28, 2015

Hi Everyone!

Today’s post is going to be the second installment of my colour series. The first post was all about peach and coral but this post is going to be about my favourite pink makeup products. I was surprised at how challenging it was for me to pick pink eyeshadows that I actually love. I guess I don’t wear a ton of pink on my eyes. I only ended up with one in that category, but I’d rather only include products I really love.

Eyes

I’ll start with eyes since I only have one ‘official’ eye product to share.

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow- I524- Pinky Beige

As I said, I don’t reach for a ton of pink on the eyes, but this is by far my favourite pink and I reach for this pretty often. It’s pink but because of the beige it still works as a nice bright neutral. I love this with cranberry or reddish brown shades in the crease, it’s one of my go-to looks. Since my skin is pretty pink, it’s kind of hard to see in a swatch, but on the eyes it has just enough shimmer to bring light to the eyes but it’s not glittery.

Lips

Pink lips are a go-to for me, they go with basically anything.

MAC Edge to Edge Lip Liner

This lip liner is by far my favourite pink lip liner. It’s neutral so it goes with a ton of different lipsticks which makes it great to have in your makeup collection since it’s super versatile.

NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss- Beige

First off I’d like to talk about the name of this for a second. Was calling this Beige for irony? If not, then I’m confused. It’s the perfect pink gloss and it should have a pink name to go with it. Okay rant over. I really like this gloss. It goes with pretty much any pink and it’s super shiny which makes your lips look nice and full. My favourite way to wear this is over the last pink favourite, MAC’s Edge to Edge Lip Liner. This gloss is not sticky at all, which is a bonus.

Revlon Matte Balm- Showy

If you’re looking a great drugstore option for a bright pink, look no further than this. It’s not as bright as my next pick, but it’s still an awesome statement lip and at an affordable price. These Matte Balms are great to just pop in your purse and you don’t need a lip liner with them since the crayon format lets you get a great shape. The shade is perfect for days when you don’t feel like spending tons of time on your eye makeup, you can do just mascara on the eyes, put this on you’re good to go. It will look like you’re bright and fresh in no time flat.

MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick and Shock Value Pro Longwear Lip Pencil

IMG_0139

My next pink favourite is a lipstick-liner combination that is perfect for a bright pop of colour. I have owned Candy Yum Yum for about a year and really enjoyed it for a statement lip. It’s definitely the brightest lipstick I own by far but go bright or go home right? It really does need a lip liner, so a lip liner I recently hauled is the perfect match. It’s the Pro Longwear formula so it seriously does not budge. That along with the matte formula of CYY makes for a super long wearing bright lip. I feel like blue toned pinks like this wake up your entire face when you wear them.

Highlight

Highlighter is one of my favourite makeup products and I do have a few pink favourites that I definitely wanted to share.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick- Pink Quartz

IMG_0142

The first pink highlighter is actually an excellent multi-use product. Not only is this a beautiful highlight, but it also makes an amazing eyeshadow and an even better blush topper. This has many tones of pink throughout and when it’s all swirled together it’s an amazing pinky-gold shade. As a blush topper this brings the most amazing glow to the cheeks. I wore this one day and took a picture and when I looked back at the picture my cheeks were glowing and when I looked back at what I was wearing it was this highlight, it looks amazing in photos.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish- Perfect Topping

The next pink product is a cooler toned pink highlight from MAC. I initially thought this was limited edition so I wasn’t going to include it, but it is still on MAC’s website so I definitely wanted to include it. The other highlight I included was definitely more on the pinky gold side, where this is a beautiful pinky champagne.

Blush

My last category for the Best Of: Pink is blush. I didn’t have as many as I thought as I definitely gravitate more towards coral and peach but I do have certain pink blushes that I reach for.

Milani Baked Blush- Delizioso Pink

IMG_0154

This looks so ridiculous in the pan but with a light hand it gives such a fresh look to the skin. On my fair skin, it creates a flushed appearance and actually looks pretty natural, which you wouldn’t think from just looking at in in the pan. If I’m not wearing a ton of makeup, I often reach for this because I know it’ll look super fresh.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush- Luminous Flush

IMG_6755

This blush is a favourite of mine for so many reasons. I recently mentioned this in my Pale Girl’s Guide post as a great blush for fair skin, but this is an amazing pink product as well. It’s not bright, but more medium in tone. It works well with light makeup, but it’s also neutral enough to go with a darker eye or lip as well.

So there you have it! Let me know below what pink products are your favourite or what colour you’d like to see next!

Bye for now!

I love my pink makeup 🙂 The name “beige” for that gloss is too funny
