I try to avoid writing this at the beginning of every favourites post, but I just can’t help myself sometimes. Time is flying. It is still unreal to me that in a month (give or take a week) I will start my last year of university. In some ways it feels like I’ve been in university forever and in others time has zoomed by. Obviously this post isn’t about that, so I’ll move on to the favourites.
Soleil Tan De Chanel
Please don’t think for a second that I’m in anyway fancy for talking about this product. Pinkies remain down, I promise. A brand or a label is not important to me. I care about using good quality products that I enjoy and this happens to be one of them. I pondered at this purchase for a long time. $53 is a lot for a bronzer. I decided to get this for my sister for her birthday since I knew she really wanted it and wouldn’t likely purchase it for herself. I decided to bite the bullet and get one for myself as well. Since this is a favourites post, obviously this was a good purchase. I have been enjoying this product so much this month. It is definitely extremely warm and when I first put it on I was a bit put off by how warm it looked. I had never owned a bronzer that warm. Now my skin just looks funny without it. The formula of this is a super smooth gel cream and it sits on the skin beautifully. I like to buff this around my cheekbones and hairline just for a soft summer glow. If it gets a little out of hand for my pale self I just dab the beauty blender over it to lighten it. Before this I was never hardcore into bronzer, but this is my absolute favourite.
MAC Matte Lipstick- Runway Hit
I mentioned this briefly in my recent MAC post but I have been wearing this lipstick out this month. I was looking for a soft coral lip that would be perfect for summer yet neutral enough to wear with a variety of looks. This is exactly what I was looking for. Like I mentioned before, I really wanted Stila Bellissima to be exactly like this shade is. I have been wearing this with Rosy Rim lip liner, which isn’t entirely necessary in my opinion since it’s not really dark enough to do any defining. I just like it to create a nice shape to fill in.
MAC Matte Lipstick- Kinda Sexy
The other lipstick I’ve been reaching for is also from MAC. I love peachy nudes the most on my skin tone and this is exactly that. I do like this on it’s own but I did end of mixing it with other products for a lot of this month. Mainly because none of my looks really suited a matte nude lip. I love this mixed with Pink Plaid from MAC. It makes it softer and more wearable for daytime. I also used Gerard Cosmetics Shimmer of Hope on top of it and it looks gorgeous. I’m not a huge fan of these glosses, but I really enjoyed the colour combo.
Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow- Pinky Sand (I520) and MAC Shell
Usually in Sephora I steer clear of the MUFE Artist Shadow display because it can suck me in so easily. I caved this time and came home with a trio…oops. Anyway this is a gorgeous eye shadow, but this month I enjoyed it more as a highlight paired with Shell. This creates a pretty intense wet looking glow and I love it. This is advertised as ‘pinky’ but it’s definitely more peach to me. It’s such a pretty highlight. These shadows have an amazing formula so it works as a highlight perfectly.
MAC Dazzle Shadow- Get Physical
This is cheating a bit since I got this closer to the end of the month, but I have to include it. My friend Jen brought this back from NYC and I am completely obsessed with it. I don’t own anything quite like it and it’s such a statement piece for my collection. When I do wear colour on my eyes I love it to stand out and be unique and this is the perfect pop of glitter for the centre of the lid. I did use this as the ‘star’ in a tutorial recently if you missed it and want to check it out.
So there you have it! I hope you enjoyed my monthly favourites. Leave me a comment below with something you loved in the month of July!
Bye for now,
