October Favourites

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to write this post, which is why it’s a little early; I couldn’t help myself. I skipped my September Favourites because I felt like I didn’t have enough to make a whole post and now because of skipping, I have a ton of stuff to share. So grab your popcorn and get comfy because I’m feeling chatty.

This is a serious rarity but I have 2 hair favourites for October.

Tangle Teezer

First I have to mention my Tangle Teezer. This brush is a gift from the heavens. I struggle with bad knots and tangling and this is a lifesaver. My regular brush made getting out knots so painful and I seriously dreaded brushing my hair. This works through knots gently without ripping out my hair. I am so obsessed with this and I can’t live without it. If you’re going to purchase one, purchase it from Amazon like I did, rather than Sephora, it’ll be a lot cheaper.

Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Restorative Styling Oil

My second hair favourite came from my most recent US haul. I picked this up at Ulta and it has done wonders for my hair. It makes it so shiny and soft. It also works well with the Tangle Teezer to work out any intense knots. Since I have pretty dry hair, I’m always looking for products to keep it hydrated and this is perfect for that and not heavy or greasy.

Now onto makeup.

Inglot #77 Gel Liner

My first makeup favourite from October was a product that I hauled from IMATS in September (also when I took this picture and why it looks so smooth). I had been wanting to try the Inglot Gel Liner for a while, but just hadn’t gotten my hands on it. This is seriously incredible. I had been using the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner for quite a while, but after trying out this one, I like it way more. The Bobbi Brown liner is excellent, but it did rub off pretty easy in the inner corner of my eye if I rubbed even a little bit. The Inglot liner does not budge. It’s alot creamier than the Bobbi Brown, making it glide on very smoothly and it’s way blacker, which was my main complaint with Bobbi Brown’s.

Make Up For Ever HD Stick Foundation

This product is another product from my IMATS haul. I had zero intentions of ever trying this and then I heard someone say it had a dewy finish. Then I needed it. We all know my life quest to look glowy at all times, so how could I not buy this? This has basically become one of my favourite foundations ever in the short time we’ve known each other. Dramatic, but honestly this is amazing. A few quick swipes and some blending with a flat top brush and angels will be singing. It has a ton of coverage but doesn’t look cakey. Huge winner for October.

MAC Lipstick- Velvet Teddy

Moving away from IMATS purchases for a minute, I have a MAC favourite for October. I have been wearing matte lips like crazy and this is one shade I can’t put down. I don’t own any nude lipsticks like this, so I thought it would be a good addition to my collection. I love the shade and how versatile it is. I went away for Thanksgiving last weekend and this was the only lipstick I brought with me and it went with everything. I find some MAC matte lipsticks to be dry, but this one is not dry at all. If I like a shade I’ll deal with it being dry, but it’s a nice bonus if it’s not.

Makeup Geek Duochrome Pigments- Prism and Hologram

Even though it’s fall and I’m using every excuse to wear warm brown eye looks all day every day, I have been breaking up my usual fall go-to with some colour. Although I am enjoying both the shadows and the pigments, the pigments are my favourite. Prism comes across as a light gold on the lid that also reflects pink. It’s a great pigment to work into everyday looks. Hologram is definitely not a neutral as it reflects pink, gold and green. This works really well with other warm fall shades and I have been loving incorporating it into my looks.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick- Patina

This is everyone’s fall favourite, but for good reason. I have been wearing this a ton as a happy medium between an everyday nude and a vampy lip. For some reason I have been hesitant about vampy lips this fall. I do work in a professional setting 3 days a week and something about vampy lips feels like it might be too much. I’m sure as we get more into fall, I’ll get over that, but for now Patina is my go-to.

Vera Mona Color Switch

This little tin has changed my life. Err…dramatic. But seriously, this thing is so freaking handy. This is now an essential for me anytime I do an eye look. I can clean off my brushes between shades or looks and have a clean brush to use with another colour. I’ve also found this handy for my eyeliner brush, I can clean off some of the liner that has dried and get a couple extra uses out of it.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush- Your Love is King

I have discovered a new favourite blush formula. I picked up one of these when I was in the US in August and I liked it so much, I picked up this shade too. This is definitely a fall and winter shade and it creates a natural in from the cold kind of look to the cheeks.

So there you have it! What have you been loving this month?

Bye for now!

What’s the color switch used for? To clean brushes? Based on your paragraph and photo about it, it interests me! :,)

Ya it’s a little mesh circle inside a tin that you rub your brushes on and it knocks all the powder off.

Wow that sounds too good to be true! I’ll look into it. Thank you 🙂

I really want to try a tangle teezer! I want to see for myself why it is so much better than an ordinary comb haha

It has shorter and longer bristles so that it can easily brush without pulling, it’s awesome!

Nice! I have to give that a go since I hate it when the comb pulls out so much of my hair

I love my Tangle Teezer! I have super fine hair that knots easily and this brush just glides straight through them. The best part is that it is very compact and travel friendly.

I agree! I have really thick hair and I get insane knots and this really helps.
