I have a tag for you today! I have been wanting to do this tag for forever!! If you’ve been reading for even a little bit, you know I love palettes. They are my makeup weakness. So when I saw this tag several months ago, I wanted to do it but I don’t have tons of palettes, so I wasn’t sure that I would have enough. I didn’t want tons of repeats. Turns out, I have enough, so here it is!
Okay so there were many interpretations of this question, but I chose to look at it as the most attractive packaging. There were a couple contenders for this question, but in the end I went with the Naked 3 palette. The rose gold just drew my eyes in and the textured outside of the tin case was a nice touch. Urban Decay’s packaging is really sleek and I love that. It looks a bit edgy, but nothing too hardcore or elaborate.
Best Colour Payoff
For this I had to go with the Naked 2 palette (I won’t be answering all these with Urban Decay, I promise!). Although this isn’t my most used out of the Naked palettes, there isn’t a shade in this palette that’s a ‘dud’. They are all super pigmented and none are chalky.
For most versatile I’m choosing a recent add to my collection. I have to give this to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. This palette has many neutral shades, but then some with more colour so there are endless possibilities for looks. I have done smoky purple looks, neutral brown looks and gold looks. With the shades included, there are the right shades to create a full look and many of them. This is a great palette for all eye colours and skin tones, making it hands down the winner of the versatility category.
Best for Travel
I don’t currently do much traveling and I’m a horrible packer, but for the odd time I am going somewhere I always pack this palette. I had to pick the Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette that came out during the holidays. I didn’t choose this due to size because it is large, but based on it’s all-in-one content. It has 20 eyeshadows and then 2 bronzer and 2 blushes. In one palette I’ll have the majority of the basics. It also came with a makeup bag that is big enough to house the palette and there’s enough room to throw in the rest of your makeup products, so that everything you need is all in one cute little pouch. The shadows are a mix of bright and neutral, so if plans change, I have the makeup for any occasion.
I had a hard time with this question. I do a lot of research before I buy new products, so I don’t have many regrets. None of my higher end palettes are regrets because I wouldn’t buy anything expensive without being pretty sure I’ll like it. So my regret is pretty inexpensive and it’s the ELF Baked Eyeshadows. I bought these when I really didn’t have any other eyeshadows and I thought they were pretty good, but now that I’ve tried better quality eyeshadows, I see how gritty these are. The colour payoff isn’t horrible, but they’re just okay. I wish I had put what I spent on these towards something better quality.
For this question, I have to repeat. I don’t have a palette that has better names than the Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things palette. The palette is mainly named after the Sound of Music. Who doesn’t want to put Cream Colored Ponies or Blue Satin Sashes on their eyes? Or Whiskers on Kittens! Or Crisp Apple Strudel! I could go on and on. This might be slightly sentimental because my sister was obsessed with the movie as a kid. It was also the first movie my dad ever saw in a theatre as a kid. When I traveled to Europe a few years back, I visited where he movie was filmed. The trip has so many awesome memories, so this palette just brings all that up! I miss it so much!
This is the fountain where Maria sings ‘I have Confidence’! There’s a flashback photo for you, me at 18, summer 2011.
This question was pretty easy for me to answer. I got this little Sephora palette for Christmas and although there is nothing wrong with it, I just haven’t used it for some reason. The shades are pretty basic, it’s not a palette I would use by itself so that might be why.
Most Used, Most Loved, Desert Island
This was a tough one because I don’t usually repeat makeup looks. I don’t have an ‘everyday’ makeup look at all. I rotate between my palettes pretty often, but if I picked the one I have used most often it would have to be the Naked 3 palette. I went through a phase of only using this for about a month, which is the longest I’ve been addicted to one palette. If I was on a desert island, I couldn’t choose just one palette. Traveling for a weekend I can’t even pick one, let alone stranded indefinitely.
So there you have it, my perfect palette tag! Let me know in the comments below what your perfect palettes are!
I tag anyone who wants to do this! It’s fun to look through all your palettes 🙂
Bye for now,
