Milani Color Statement Lipstick Collection

July 9, 2014

Hey Beauties!

I have a really exciting post for today! I recently picked up a bunch of the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks when they were 30% off and I thought I’d share which ones I picked. I already love these. The formula is so creamy and pigmented, there wasn’t a ‘dud’ out of any I chose. They also stain your lips, so it’s great for staying power. Even after applying all 13 and wiping them off my lips aren’t the least bit dry so I know these won’t be drying. You really can’t get better than that for $5.49 full price.

I tried to do these in order from lightest to darkest so that the staining wouldn’t be a huge issue. I will say that the photos don’t do these justice, they are even more beautiful in person! I will definitely be experimenting with more shades of these.

Nude Creme

Cream Finish

Nude Creme is like a brown-pink nude shade. It looks more brown in the tube than on my lips, but it is a really flattering nude shade for my skin tone. It’s darker than some of the other nudes I have, which is a nice change. The best way I can describe this is a ‘my lips but better shade’.

Naturally Chic

Cream Finish

This shade is also a nude but it’s rose toned and deeper than the last. It comes off much pinker on me than it looks in the tube. In the tube it comes off with a stronger brown undertone.

Pretty Natural

Cream Finish

This shade is starting to move away from the nude shades and is a deeper rose shade.

Rose Amour

Cream Finish

This is a really bright rose pink shade. I really like this one! It does come across brighter on than it looks in the tube, but I enjoy bright colours, so this was a happy surprise.

Fruit Punch

Cream Finish

This is a really pretty pinky-coral shade. It’s just bright enough, but not too bright. I think this is a great shade because the pink mixed with the coral makes it more versatile.

Pink Love

Cream Finish

This is a true pink shade. It’s pretty cool toned and bright. I think this is perfect for my fair skin, I can see it looking really light or sort of frosty with a tan.

Flamingo Pose

Cream Finish

This shade is hot pink and coral mixed. I think this shade is so pretty and would look amazing with a tan. This is a perfect summer shade.

Flirty Fuchsia

Vinyl Finish

This is a true fuchsia. It has a shinier finish than the cream finishes which just makes your lips look so luscious!

Sweet Nectar

Cream Finish

This is orange…very orange! If you want to rock a bright orange lip, this is it! Despite how bright this is, I love it! It doesn’t make my teeth look yellow and it compliments my hair colour.

sweet nectar

High Voltage

Vinyl Finish

This is the one red shade I picked up. It’s not a full red as it does have some orange undertones. If you like reds, this is a great one to add to your collection. I did find this one kind of hard to apply, it’s really obvious when you mess up. That explains the messy application. I did pick up a few lip liners and I got one to go with this and I would definitely use it.

Hot Pink Rage

Matte Finish

I don’t know about anyone else, but I think the name of this is off. It doesn’t scream hot pink to me. It’s pretty, but not hot pink. It’s more medium. A great shade for someone easing their way into brighter lipsticks.

Uptown Mauve

Cream Finish

This a violet shade, but it’s deeper and softer with some mauve undertones. A great shade to subtly wear purple as it has pink undertones. It is much more mauve in person.

Matte Finish

The last and darkest shade I picked up is Sangria. This is a deep berry shade. This colour is kind of vampy and I can see it being my fall go-to. This does appear darker in the tube and although I think this is more wearable, I wouldn’t have minded it darker!

There you have it, my Milani lipstick collection! These are awesome and worth way more than their price, I’m really glad I picked these up. Let me know in the comments which one(s) you like the best! If you want to see any of these in a tutorial, you can leave that in the comments as well 🙂

Bye for now!

Ya we can’t get it in store in Canada either, I’ve ordered from Cherry Culture before to get it internationally. Not sure if the Milani online store ships to the UK
