Today’s post is kind of a follow up from a post a did a couple of weeks ago on standout drug store products. Since I sung some drug store products praises, I figured I should give credit where credit is due and now talk about high-end products that are definitely worth their price tags. Obviously these products are on the expensive side, but even if you wouldn’t buy them, we all love to drool anyway, right? Some products will be specific, while some mentions I make are more general. Without any more blabbering, let’s get to it!
Candy Yum-Yum, Creme Cup
The first thing I had to mention was MAC lipsticks. Until recently I didn’t own any lip products so iI have only collected a couple MAC lipsticks so far, but they are by far are my favourite formula. These are so pigmented, smooth and creamy. These do last a long time on my lips, particularly Candy Yum-Yum. I can put this on and eat and drink and still have colour. The 2 shades I own are some of MAC’s most popular and I can definitely see why. Candy Yum-Yum is not for the lipstick shy as it is insanely bright. It is blue based so I find it to be particularly flattering on my skin and my teeth. I would highly recommend a lip liner with this, since it’s a pretty unforgivable shade if you go outside of your lip line. As well, I think Creme Cup is a staple shade. It can be worn with a nude gloss to look more nude or with something pink to draw out it’s colour. If you’re new to MAC lipsticks like I am, i definitely recommend Creme Cup as a great starting shade. Plus there is such a variety of shades and finishes to choose from. These are $19 so my collection is building up slowly, but these are definitely a lipstick brand that is worth the hype around it. If there are any MAC shades that are your favourite that I should try, leave it in the comments below 🙂

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Products
The next products are definitely hyped up. If you’re into makeup, you will have likely heard of Anastasia Beverly Hills by now and I can honestly say that it’s not an over-hyped brand. I never used to fill in my brows, but once I started it became a must have in my beauty routine. It makes such a difference in my face and since I already have a pretty clear brow shape, it’s not tons of work to fill them in. Both of the ABH brow products I’ve tried are impeccable. The shade range is impressive, well beyond the selection available from many other companies. Plus, the brand offers a huge variety of brow products, so no matter what type of product you like to use (powder, pencil or gel) there is something for you to try. I personally have tried and tested both the Brow Whiz and the Dipbrow Pomade and love them both for different types of ‘brow days’. If you have sparse brows and you haven’t found something that works for you, check out this brand because I think that you’ll be able to find something perfect for you. I recently talked about this in depth, so I won’t go on too much, but you can check out the post here if you’re interested in more detail.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
For this product, I’m specifically talking about the original Naked palette. I can honestly say that out of all three Naked palettes, this is the one I least understood the hype about. I couldn’t see why this was such a cult favourite. Now that I own it, I can completely see why this is so popular and the most popular out of the 3 in my opinion. Out of all 3 Naked palettes, this is the most versatile by far. It has 2 perfect transition shades (Naked and Buck) that I find myself reaching for for almost all my looks, especially to blend out colours. The warm tones are so flattering and easier for most skin tones and eye colours to pull off than say the Naked 2 which is much cooler. If you were to get any of the Naked palettes, this is the one I would recommend. Like all the Naked palettes, the shades are buttery and pigmented. These are the kind of neutrals I reach for and it’s by far my most used Naked palette. For something that’s been out so long to still be so loved is impressive.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
The next completely hyped product is The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer. This is a very talked about highlighter and for good reason. This is by far the most pigmented highlighter I have ever tried. I find now that I’ve used this, nothing else compares. This gives me intense glow, which is perfect for summer. It’s not too pink or too gold, but a perfect champagne shade. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again because it’s so important with this product, this is insanely pigmented so if you like softer highlights this might not be for you. But if you’re like me and love a good highlight, this applied with a light hand gives a a beautiful glow.
Stila Kitten Eyeshadow
The next hyped up product is actually part of a palette I have, but this shade in particular is really popular. I recently won the Stila in the Light palette in a giveaway and this shade is in that palette, so I can now see why this is so popular. Not only is it very buttery, especially for a shade with this much shimmer but it’s also very pigmented. I have been loving placing this all over the lid or just in the centre to give a pop to my eyes. This looks good on my hazel eyes and even better with blue eyes. It’s just such a universal shade, the champagne-gold colour goes with so many different looks.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
My last product that is definitely worth it’s high end price tag is a foundation I’ve talked a lot about recently. I picked this up a while back with a gift card I got for my birthday and it’s my new favourite foundation. I have no other foundation that has coverage anywhere near this. Plus with a low SPF, it’s a prime foundation for photos. This foundation has tons of shades to choose from, so you’re pretty likely to find something that matches you. I recently reviewed this foundation in full, so if you want more detail, you can check out my post here.
So there you have it! Leave me a comment below with your favourite high products that are worth the hype! I’m going to be going on a weekend shopping trip soon and hitting up Ulta and I would love some suggestions!
Bye for now!
