November is nearing it’s end and that means it’s favourites time! This will actually be the last monthly favourites of the year, as next month I will be doing my yearly favourites…that’s crazy to me. Hard to believe the year is nearly over and very soon this blog will be 1 year old. I have loved blogging over this last year and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead. But for now, let’s see what goodies November brought.
LA Girl Pro Conceal
My first favourite is a real bargain. I picked up this concealer a couple months back and I didn’t love it at first I’ll admit. Over time, it’s really grown on me. I ordered this in the lightest shade which is Classic Ivory and I was expecting it to me a skin tone shade, but it’s actually quite peachy which really helps to get rid of the crazy dark circles I’ve been sporting lately (student life, I blame you). It’s the perfect base for me to put down before I highlight to get rid of the majority of the darkness. I don’t love the applicator on this since it’s a bit messy, but for less than $3, I can live with that.
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
To go along with the concealer, I have a new player in my ‘battle the dark circles’ game. I recently got a sample of this at Sephora, used it all up and picked up the full size. This is one of those products that at first you question if it’s doing anything, you turn away, look back and BAM! Dark circles are gone. It is the perfect finishing step to brighten up my under eye area.
Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows- I524, M822
Pinky Beige, Plum
I don’t have a favourite palette of the month, but I do have a favourite that I added to my collection very recently. I haven’t had these long, but they were an immediate favourite. I have been loving these 2 shades out of the 7 I got in particular. Pinky Beige (left) is a really soft shade, almost like a peachy-pink champagne. It looks great on it’s own on the lid or with the other shade I have been loving in the crease. The other shade is M822 Plum. I wouldn’t call this a plum shade, it’s more a red-brown to me. It’s the perfect crease colour to add darkness but not take away any warmth. It’s an ideal fall shade as well.
MAC Powder Blush in Melba
Moving away from the eyes, I have one blush favourite this month. Last month I loved MAC’s Cantaloupe and I still do, but now I am also loving Melba. This is just the perfect neutral shade, it goes with anything. I love this on it’s own or mixed with Cantaloupe.
Nars Laguna Bronzer
I have jumped on the bandwagon…sorry not sorry. I picked this up a while back and I cannot put it down. This is a great shade to warm up my skin with, it leaves a really pretty soft luminosity to the skin. I don’t contour with this, it just doesn’t create enough shadow to do that, but for giving myself some colour this is perfect.
Nars Audacious Lipstick- Raquel and Grace
My last favourite was a spur of the moment splurge purchase. I swatched these in Sephora and that was the end of it. These babies were coming home with me. The first of the two shade I have quickly become obsessed with is Raquel. It’s a peachy pink-brown nude that doesn’t wash me out in the slightest. Then on the opposite end of the spectrum, is the shade Grace. Now I initially picked this up because of the name, but I quickly fell in love with the colour as well. It’s a bright red-orange shade, not something I usually reach for, but this shade is amazing. It stays put for hours and doesn’t dry my lips out.
That’s it for my November Favourites! I hope you enjoyed this post and leave me a comment below with your favourites!
Bye for now,
