My Journey to Better Skin with the Clarisonic Mia: 2 Week Update

March 28, 2015

Hi Everyone!

So if you caught my post two weeks ago, I bit the bullet and purchased the Clarisonic Mia. I’m not going to go into huge detail why since I did talk about that in my ‘pre-use‘ post. This post is going to be chronicling my first 2 weeks using the Clarisonic Mia. I’ll note how I feel about it, if I noticed any changes in my skin or anything else that comes up.

First Impression

I let the Clarisonic charge for 24 hours as recommended and I could hardly wait to use it. I’ll admit I probably hyped up the first use a bit. I opted not to use the cleanser that came with it and just use my regular cleanser since I know my skin likes that. The cleanser I use is the Simple Foaming Cleanser. I initially pumped it right onto the device, but I switched and ended up just putting it on my face first, it spreads easier that way. It definitely was a little rougher than I expected, not painful or anything but not soft soft if that makes sense. You definitely want to make sure both your face and the brush are pretty wet or it will drag. I used it for 1 minute and afterwards my skin felt pretty much the same, maybe a touch softer. I wasn’t wearing any makeup before I used it so I couldn’t see how it worked to remove makeup or anything like that. My skin didn’t feel tight or dry. So after first use there was no change which is to be expected.

The Rest of Week 1 and 2

I have now used the Clarisonic once a day for 14 days and I’m already so attached to it. It takes off my makeup quickly and my skin just feels clean afterwards. In terms of my skin, I started off with dry patches like I mentioned in the initial pre-use post and those have fully cleared up. I initially wasn’t sure my skin could handle using this every day, but I haven’t felt dry at all so that’s great. My skin does feel soft, like really, really soft.

Now I’ve heard that the Clarisonic can make you break out since it’s pushing all the dirt out of your pores. I’m seeing a little of that but not majorly. I’ve had a couple of small blemishes on my forehead and nose, but nothing extreme. I never break out on my forehead so I can pretty accurately associate it with the Clarisonic.

I’m going to include a photo from 2 weeks ago and from today so we can see side by side if there is any difference thus far.

Before Clarisonic

2 week update

Excuse the resting bitch face, it was bedtime. So in all not a ton of change that I can see, but my skin does feel really soft and hydrated. I don’t know, can you see a difference? I’m still not entirely sure how long it will take to see changes but I’m willing to be patient because I already (so far) love my Clarisonic.

If you’ve used the Clarisonic, how long did it take for you to see changes in your skin? Let me know in the comments, I’m really curious.

Bye for now!

Skin care changes usually takes about 8 weeks.
I haven’t tried it and honestly a bit scared that it will be to rough on my skin. I’m curious about the Foreo Luna 🙂

I really wasn’t sure if my skin could handle this but it really has reacted well. And I’m just using the brush head that came with it, there are 2 others (delicate and cashmere luxe) that are even softer than the one I’m using.

Might have to reconsider it then 🙂

I love my Clarisonic. It definitely took me several weeks before I noticed some changes, I used it for months and then went a while without it (mostly just due to being lazy) and as soon as I started to use it again, I could definitely see and feel a difference in my skin.

My skin definitely feels different, just haven’t seen anything major yet. But I like the way it feels so it doesn’t really matter that much at this point!

Your skin looks great 🙂 im sure it’ll improve, too. I have a Clarisonic and didn’t see noticeable results for about a month. I really love how it deep cleans. X

Thank you! I’m really curious what it will look like at my 1 month update. Even though I haven’t seen major results yet, I am loving how soft and clean my skin feels. It’s such a part of my routine now.
