Current Everyday Makeup Products: Spring 2015

May 11, 2015

Hi Everyone!

Today I thought I’d share some of the highlights in my current makeup routine. I usually don’t have an everyday makeup routine as  I change up my look pretty often but lately I have been doing a similar look over and over so I thought I’d share. I won’t include every single product I use or we’d be here a while, but just some that I think are noteworthy.

Starting with the eyes, I have been gravitating to the same look for a few weeks now. I’m super into a really bright open eye look so the products I have been grabbing focus on that.

Smashbox Always Sharp Kohl Liner- Bare

I have been getting back into using a nude liner in my waterline and lately I have been reaching for this liner from Smashbox. I was using the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Nude which is decent, but it won’t stay on my waterline for very long at all. I bought this in hopes it would last longer since it claims to be waterproof. It does last a little longer, but I wouldn’t call it waterproof. This really opens up my eyes and adds to the brightening eye look I’ve been going for.

Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette

Shades Labeled JH

I can’t believe this is still part of my every day routine. i seriously cannot put this down. This palette just has the most perfect warm browns and it’s my default start to any eye look. If I don’t know what I want to do I will lay down some warm browns from this palette in the crease and then build from there. Most notable are shades 13, 64 and 14.

Josie Maran Coconut Water Eyeshadow- Playa Del Pink

Like I said in the beginning I do change up my makeup quite a bit, so when I wear a product for multiple days in a row, it should seriously be recognized. I have not put this down since I got it. It’s one of the most brightening shadows I have ever seen and it makes my eyes pop. I am beyond obsessed with this. It is a liquid so I will shake it up, run the applicator across my lid from inner to outer corner only creating a line as wide as the doefoot and then I will take my crease brush and blend it up to the crease. You don’t need a lot of it and this is the best way to do it and not get transfer when you open your eye. This doesn’t budge which is perfect when it’s hot outside. On my lid it doesn’t really come across pink, but more light bronze-taupe, which is the perfect pop but still neutral.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick- Pink Quartz

I do change up my blush super often so I don’t have an every day blush, but I do have a blush topper that I put on top of pretty much any matte blush. I was using this Shimmer Brick as a highlighter, but I like it much better as a blush topper. It doesn’t show up shimmery, it just looks like a glow which is perfect for spring and summer. I have been trying to maximize the glow and this is perfect for that.

Nars Blush- Albatross

When you’re trying to maximize glow like I am for spring, this is a great go-to highlight. This is intense, but when blended out it’s super brightening. I love the look of this down my nose, not sure why it just looks really good there.

Nars Laguna Bronzer

Now that spring is here, I’m backing off the contouring a little in favour of bronzing. I have been reaching for this bronzer because it’s light enough to dust over my entire face for some glow and colour. It adds just enough colour, but it’s not orange and it doesn’t really darken my face much, it just kind of adds natural colour back to it.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation- Mont Blanc

Other than my regular face products that almost never change, this is what I’ve been reaching for lately. I like this foundation because with one layer it covers up my redness, but still lets my freckles peek through, which I love. With 2 layers it can be built up to full coverage. It doesn’t feel heavy and it has great staying power even in heat and humidity.

I change up my lip combination super often, but lately I have been choosing the same combos pretty often.

MAC Beet Lip Liner and MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick

This might not make a ton of sense at first since the lip liner is a pinky red and lipstick is a blue toned light pink, but when mixed together it makes the most stunning matte light berry lip.

MAC Edge to Edge Lip Liner with NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Beige

I talked about this combo in my Best Of: Pink post so I won’t talk too long, but I have been grabbing this as my go to neutral lip. It’s perfect for interviews and it goes with most eye looks. This has been living in my purse for the last month since I grab for it so often.

MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick with Shock Value Pro Longwear Lip Pencil

This also made the cut for my favourite pink products, but this is my go to bright lip. Whenever I put this lipstick on it instantly makes me feel good and wide awake. It definitely is a statement, but I love it. Bright shades like this make me feel empowered for some reason.

So there you have it! I have been obsessed with these products lately and I haven’t been getting bored, which is a big deal for me! What are your go-to products lately? Let me know in the comments!

Bye for now!

I just picked up a sample of the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation to see if I like it better than the other one. I wear Mont Blanc too. It matches so well!
