September is upon us, which means summer is coming to an end. I love summer and I’m sad to see it go. I guess this is like my last monthly favourites of summer 2015. How did it go by so fast? Anyway, let’s get to my August favourites!
Nars Sheer Glow
My favourite products from August are a mix of ‘old’ and ‘new’ and this was one of the ‘old’ products. I have owned this foundation for a while and I do use it often, but this month reminded me of how much I like it. This foundation is perfect for summer. It looks natural on the skin, lets my freckles shine through and doesn’t feel heavy. It has enough coverage to even out my skin and make everything look nice, but it’s definitely not full coverage. I chose soft bronzed skin looks a lot this summer and this complimented those looks perfectly.
Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette- Morphe Brushes
After nearly 3/4 of a year this is still one of my most used palettes. I use this so often and usually reach for the same shades over and over and never get bored. I love the warm browns in this palette and they seem to be my starting point for a lot of my looks. I know this isn’t available anymore, but you can purchase the shades individually so it’s not completely out of reach.
Besame Brightening Vanilla Powder
I purchased this a few months ago and it’s taken me a bit to really fall in love with it. I purchased this in hopes that it would set my under eye area and help keep my concealer from creasing. It does advertise that it’s brightening so I figured if it did that, it would be a bonus. It unfortunately doesn’t brighten on my skin tone (as per usual), but it does an amazing job of setting my concealer. I have minimal if any creasing when I use this powder and it doesn’t clump up like MAC’s Emphasize powder can do sometimes if you lay it on thick. I’ll use this right after my concealer to keep creasing at bay and then I’ll use a little bit of Emphasize on top as a brightener.
Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow- ME612
I have been loving blown out bronze eye looks over the past month and this shadow is my go-to bronze. I love to lay down a warm brown transition shade, then put this all over the lid and really smoke it out on the lower lash line. This colour is really complimentary to my eye colour by making the green stand out.
Becca Cosmetics- Champagne Pop
I already did a complete review on this a few weeks back, so I won’t go on too long. This has been the only highlighter I have used since I got it. It gives the most beautiful glow on the skin and works well on my skintone. I did mention in my review that it wasn’t long lasting, but if I use it with a setting spray it does seem to stick around longer.
Sigma Small Angle E65 Brush*
This month I discovered a new brush for my brows. This brush is actually intended as an eye liner brush, but I really don’t like it as a liner brush because it’s a little on the thick side. This was sent to me by Obsessed Canada, which is an awesome website for Canadians to purchase Sigma brushes. Since our dollar is so low, it makes purchasing from American sites on the expensive side. This works out to be a lot cheaper for us. I have talked a lot about Sigma in the past and I really enjoy their brushes. I have owned several of their brushes for nearly 2 years now and they all look like new. I like this brush because it’s able to pick up a little more product than my Anastasia Brush, which makes my brows look a little softer. Plus it gets the job done faster.
So there you have it! September is shaping up to be a busy month for me so I should have an awesome September favourites. Also at the end of this month is IMATS Toronto, which is my personal candy land so I’m super excited for that.
Bye for now!
