By now you might have noticed that my blog looks a little different from my last post. Well over the last week and a bit, this blog has undergone a makeover.
I had been wanting to make some changes for a while, but I was pretty unsure about how to make it happen and I was too afraid to make any big changes in case I messed it up. About a week and a half ago, I was contacted by a company called Blogerize, who help people who are new to blogging get started or people who are already blogging make their blogs better. Anyways, I was offered a blog makeover. Of course, I jumped at the chance since I had been thinking about it for a while anyway. Initially, they were going to help me give my blog a fresh new look, but it turns out my old format didn’t allow for any custom designs or themes. The only way for me to give my blog a new look was to become self-hosted. This scared me because I didn’t want to lose everything I had created up until this point, but Elena and the Blogerize team walked me through the entire process. They helped me every step of the way and gave me exactly what I was looking for. They even transferred all of my content and followers so that I wouldn’t be starting fresh.
Moving to a self-hosted format is the best option for me because I will have room to grow, which I didn’t have with my old format. My old format had limited space for media and it was forcing me to delete parts of posts in order to make room for new media, which I found frustrating. I don’t want to have posts with parts missing; now I don’t have to worry about it.
I am beyond happy with my blog’s new look and the flexibility going self-hosted will give me. If you want to up your blogging game, check out what Blogerize has to offer.
*Side note: They did not ask me to write this post, but I am so impressed with their services, that I wanted to anyway.*
