Collective Haul- Sephora, MAC, Lush and Drugstore

April 20, 2016

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a haul for you! I did a little shopping this week so I thought I’d share what I picked up.  My boyfriend Steve and I had a date day which included some mall time which was greatly appreciated by me as we don’t have a proper mall in our city. It’s been a while since I posted a haul so let’s get to it!

I’m going to start with the things I picked up at the drug store. It’s been even longer since I hauled anything from the drugstore so it was overdue.

NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette

The first thing I picked up from the drugstore is actually a shock to me. Previously I had refused to pick up this palette because $30 for drugstore is steep in my opinion, but I swatched this and the quality really surprised me so I decided to give it a try. I do think NYX in Canada is overpriced (their single shadows are now more than MAC pans), but these powders weren’t dry or scratchy but very buttery soft and pigmented. I have tried this one already and it seriously packs a punch. It didn’t last as long as some of my highlights, but I did put it through a 12+ hour day in all fairness. I’ll have to keep testing this out but so far so good.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara

The second and last drugstore item I picked up is the Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara. The original Lash Sensational is one of my favourite drugstore mascaras so when I saw that this version was on sale, I decided to give it a try for comparison. I’ve only used it once and it seems pretty similar to the original so far, but I need to play with it more to really see.

Now moving onto Lush, something I have never really hauled on this blog. I seem to go in spurts with Lush, sometimes I love it and sometimes there are so many choices that I get overwhelmed and don’t buy anything. On this day the store was basically empty so I was in a good mood to buy. This time I’m trying all new products that I haven’t tried before so that’s a bonus.

Eau Roma Water

The first thing I picked up is a toner. I haven’t been using a toner because my skin leans dry and I didn’t want anything to make it worse. This is specifically made for sensitive and dry skin which is me lately. I don’t know if this will make any difference but I know it’s full of good ingredients for my skin.

Bubble Bars

Second, I picked up 2 bubble bars. I usually go for the bath bombs so I haven’t tried these yet. These smelled amazing so I decided to try them out. I got Brightside, which is the bright orange one. It smells like citrus which is one of my favourite scents. I also got Sunnyside which is the glitter bomb. This is also citrus scented. I just saw glitter and it was mine. Basically sums up my life.

Luxury Bath Oil- You’ve Been Mangoed

I had never seen these before so I asked the sales associate and she said they were brand new. You melt these into your bath water and it’s supposed to leave your skin nice and soft which I desperately need. I didn’t realize that this was mango but it smelled good so I went for it. I have had sensitivities to mango in the past, but not recently so it should be fine.

Glam Glow Gift Sexy

The first thing I picked up from Sephora is this Glam Glow set. I have only ever owned one Glam Glow mask, which was the Tingle-Exfoliate one and it wasn’t my favourite; too harsh for my sensitive skin. I have tried both the Super Mud and the Hydrating mask and loved them so I decided to get my own. Originally, I was just going to purchase the hydrating mask as that was what I was most interested in, but then I saw this set. This was $3 cheaper than just the hydrating mask alone but also included a mini Super Mud, a hydrating cleanser and a brush to apply the mask. I didn’t really need the brush or the cleanser but the hydrating mask in the set was full sized so it just made more sense. Plus I tried the cleanser and it was nice.  It won’t be something I reach for consistently or repurchase only because it can’t be used with my Foreo Luna Mini, which I use every night to wash my face.

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick- Feelin’ Myself

DSC00835 (1)

Too Faced launched long-wear matte lipsticks so I picked up a shade to try. Liquid lipsticks are my obsession so I basically want to try every single one that comes out. Some of the shades I wanted were out of stock so I just picked up this coral shade for now.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlight- Sin

As a highlighter junkie, this caught my eye. Basically anything light gold that will make my glow visible from space has me written all over it. I haven’t tried this yet, but it looks promising. I really like the packaging on this, it’s super sleek and has a magnetic closure which is handy.

Lastly, I picked up 2 things at MAC.

Pencil Sharpener

This is definitely not exciting, but necessary. I tried to sharpen of my Pro Longwear lip colours with a regular sharpener and almost destroyed it so this was much needed.

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick- All Fired Up

My sister bought this lipstick when we were in NYC a couple of months ago and I loved it on her and have been meaning to purchase it for myself. It’s a bright fuchsia but less neon than a lot of other ones that I own and more berry.

So there you have it! What have you hauled lately?

Bye for now!
